Maria - Business Consultant, Implementation Services Austria

"I work as a Business Consultant in Implementation Service in Austria. I had one year's of working experience before joining SimCorp, and because I am rather new in SimCorp, I have only just begun working at the customer site."

Maria Crepaz - Business Consultant, with SimCorp since September 2008

My educational background is a mixture of economics, mathematics and computer science, and I mainly use my financial background and computer science.

I would say my education matches my current job profile quite well.

Did you find it difficult to start working for SimCorp?

It was not difficult to start working at SimCorp. The introductory course and the SimCorp Academy training was good, and in Germany I had one month of training during which I was assigned a project in order to get deeper into the SimCorp system. This helped me gain the competences I needed to work closely with the clients. Having several very experienced colleagues around to ask if I was in doubt, also made my transition over to the client site a lot smoother. The great focus on training and development also helps keep us up-to-date with the newest knowledge, which I find important.

Is SimCorp an attractive workplace?

I like SimCorp’s international orientation. We have a diverse work force with people coming from many different countries. In the Vienna offices I have colleagues from Denmark, Germany and Poland among others.

How is the social life in SimCorp?

In Austria we sometimes have spontaneous get-togethers. For instance, we all went out for the final of the Champions League in Football, and we always have a celebration when somebody enters or leaves a project. Because the Austrian office is connected to the German office, there are a lot of activities going on in Germany; however it can be a bit difficult to find time to go to such leisure time activities when living and working in Austria, but if I’m there, and something is going on, I usually participate.

What is SimCorp's position in the market?

SimCorp was established in Austrian quite recently, however it is my impression that knowledge of who SimCorp is, what we do and stand for, is spreading We acquire more and more clients in the Austrian market. We already have a strong market position in Germany, so I think if you ask people in the banking sector, and you say "SimCorp", they know who you are talking about.
